Martin Hornagold is an IT Consultant and Business Systems Architect.

From 1997 to 2000 he provided network management and support services. During these activities he discovered shortfalls and misuse of business IT systems and applications.

He worked with project managers and consultants to deliver active document solutions to clients. The most notable of which was a Railway safety incident reporting system.

He has provided IT consultancy services to the education sector and was responsible for the design, specification, and procurement of IT systems for a number of large capital projects.

He has developed a suite of web based applications to integrate legacy business systems, and improve the availability and transparency of information to management. This enables the improvement and simplification of business processes from a management perspective.

As part of his MSc programme, Martin designed the architecture and prototype of a knowledge management system, built around the principles of ontologies and the semantic web. This can be used by organisations to improve the way they share knowledge with both internal and external stakeholders.
